'Street' First Aid

'Street' First Aid - a special course for young people

This is an exciting and entirely new, innovative course designed specifically for young people. It uses active participation, group work and role play to explore issues and develop important skill areas.

The course is delivered by accredited First Aid Trainers who are also fully Qualified Youth Workers with many years experience of the issues faced everyday by young people in an informal urban environment.  

Included in the course is a fully validated and Nationally recognised First Aid qualification awarded by ITC, a HSE and QCA Awarding Body which is valid for 3 years.

Curriculum Outline

Part One - dealing with an emergency on the street

Personal safety
What to do first
Checking the most important things
What if they're not breathing?
What if they can't wake?
What if they're bleeding badly?

Part Two - Street Specific Issues

Effects of drugs and alcohol
Damage from sharp and blunt objects
Dealing with a crash, cars and motorbikes

The course can be delivered over one full day (0930 - 1630), or in two sessions of three hours, as appropriate to the needs of the group.

Costs: The standard cost for courses delivered at the client's site is £495 + vat for a group of up to 12 persons.
